Somatic Shaking™ is an educational, somatic, and experiential method designed by Adrian Băjenaru for body awareness, self-exploration, emotional expression, and personal development.

Somatic Shaking™ and its facilitators are not licensed medical, psychiatric, psychological, psychotherapeutic, physiotherapeutic, or mental health care providers unless a separate professional qualification is explicitly stated.

Somatic Shaking™ is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, medical condition, physical injury, psychological disorder, or mental health condition.

Participation is not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, medication, psychotherapy, physiotherapy, or care provided by a licensed physician, psychologist, psychotherapist, psychiatrist, physiotherapist, or other qualified healthcare professional.

Results vary from person to person and are not guaranteed. Each participant’s experience depends on their individual physical and emotional condition, personal involvement, circumstances, and implementation of the practices presented.

Videos and promotional materials may show selected peak moments from different stages of a session. They do not represent the complete process, preparation, participant screening, individual assessment, regulation, integration, safety measures, or full context of the participant’s experience.

Physical touch may be used only when relevant to the session and only with the participant’s clear, informed, specific, and voluntary consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Participants may refuse, modify, or stop physical touch without having to provide a reason.

PREGNANCY

Standard Somatic Shaking™ sessions are not recommended during pregnancy. Pregnant individuals should not participate in sessions involving induced tremoring, intense shaking, forceful movement, strong abdominal or pelvic activation, breath retention, rapid breathing, jumping, cathartic expression, or physical pressure.

Pregnant individuals should consult their obstetric healthcare provider regarding appropriate pregnancy-specific movement, relaxation, and somatic practices.

MEDICAL AND PHYSICAL PRECAUTIONS

Somatic Shaking™ may involve physical exertion, repetitive movement, spontaneous or voluntary shaking, changes in breathing, emotional expression, temporary muscle fatigue, and activation of the autonomic nervous system.

A participant must inform the facilitator before the session about any relevant medical condition, injury, surgery, medication, pregnancy, psychiatric treatment, neurological condition, cardiovascular condition, or other health concern.

Participation is not recommended without prior approval from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional and an individual discussion with the facilitator when a person has:

• A recent operation, surgery, significant physical injury, fracture, or acute inflammation
• Epilepsy, a seizure disorder, unexplained loss of consciousness, or another serious neurological condition
• Uncontrolled high blood pressure or a significant cardiovascular or heart condition
• A severe spinal condition, spinal instability, or an acute neck or back injury
• Severe dizziness, balance difficulties, fainting episodes, or significant breathing difficulties
• Glaucoma, retinal detachment, or another condition that may be affected by physical strain or pressure
• A medical condition that may be aggravated by vigorous movement, altered breathing, muscular contraction, or involuntary tremoring

A medical professional’s approval does not guarantee that participation is safe or appropriate. The facilitator may decline, postpone, modify, or discontinue participation whenever the session appears unsuitable or outside the facilitator’s scope of practice.

PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL PRECAUTIONS

Individuals experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis, psychosis, mania, severe dissociation, active suicidal thoughts, severe emotional instability, or symptoms requiring urgent professional support should not participate in a standard Somatic Shaking™ session.

Individuals currently receiving psychiatric or psychological treatment, or who have a history of severe or complex trauma, should discuss participation with their treating professional and inform the facilitator before the session.

Somatic Shaking™ may temporarily bring attention to strong physical sensations, memories, emotions, or protective responses. Participants are never required to relive, describe, disclose, or emotionally intensify a traumatic experience.

SELF-REGULATION AND RIGHT TO STOP

Participants must remain in control of their level of participation. They are encouraged to slow down, change position, keep their eyes open, pause, rest, ground themselves, or stop completely whenever necessary.

No participant should force shaking, breathing, emotional expression, physical intensity, or discomfort in an attempt to produce a particular result.

Participation must be reduced or stopped immediately if a person experiences:

• Sharp, increasing, or unusual pain
• Chest pain, breathing difficulty, faintness, severe dizziness, or loss of balance
• Numbness, significant weakness, confusion, or loss of orientation
• Panic, dissociation, emotional flooding, a flashback, or an inability to remain present
• Uncontrolled movement that the participant cannot comfortably reduce or stop
• Any other physical or emotional reaction that feels unsafe or overwhelming

Participants should seek appropriate medical or psychological assistance when symptoms are severe, persistent, unfamiliar, or concerning.

FACILITATOR AND PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES

The facilitator provides instructions, educational information, options, and general support. The facilitator does not guarantee prevention of injury, emotional discomfort, or adverse reactions.

Each participant remains responsible for:

• Providing accurate and relevant information about their health
• Respecting their physical and emotional limits
• Choosing an appropriate level of intensity
• Communicating pain, discomfort, fear, overwhelm, or withdrawal of consent
• Stopping whenever participation no longer feels safe
• Seeking appropriate medical or psychological care when needed

No medical claims, specific healing promises, or guaranteed outcomes are made.

Somatic Shaking™ is a complementary educational and body-awareness practice. It is not a substitute for medical, psychological, psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, physiotherapeutic, emergency, or mental health care.
