Can Kundalini Awakening Occur During Shaking Practice?

The answer is yes — absolutely.

Kundalini is the primal life energy that resides in the first chakra, coiled like a serpent at the base of the spine. This energy carries the energetic memory of many incarnations your soul has journeyed through. Once awakened, a person may experience a wide spectrum of states — from sadness, irritability, or insomnia to moments of mystical ecstasy and union.

In general, Kundalini is a highly potent and sometimes volatile force if not properly integrated — especially when the practitioner lacks a stable connection with the earth’s grounding energy.

My Experience with Kundalini Awakenings

In my own path, I’ve experienced several Kundalini awakenings. Today, I can consciously guide this energy through a few shaking movements harmonized with primordial breathing.

The practice unfolds through the three protocol phases — ST, BC, and JD — while maintaining continuous, rhythmic breathing.

The Breathing Formula

  • Inhale deeply: charging yourself, as if drawing mountain air into your chest.
  • Exhale fully: releasing all heaviness and residual tension.

Remember: there must be no pause between inhalation and exhalation — this allows the brain to enter a mild state of hyperventilation, facilitating energetic release and expansion.

  1. Shaking Tree (ST) — Shake while keeping your feet grounded, moving only from the knees.
  2. Burning Candle (BC) — Shake by bouncing, jumping lightly, letting the entire body move freely.
  3. Jaguar Dance (JD) — Enter the wild, chaotic shaking that arises spontaneously — unstructured, primal, and deeply liberating.

These three stages flow naturally into one another; don’t rationalize or measure the time spent in each. Follow the rhythm that your body dictates.

Stay fully aware throughout the process of the sensations arising along your spine. At times, you may feel contractions shifting from the abdomen to the chest, or higher — or spontaneous, uncontrolled movements. These are clear signs of Kundalini energy in motion. What you need to do is move freely and allow the energy to rise gently. If you begin the practice with this intention, everything will unfold naturally, intuitively — and, most importantly, safely.

The Kundalini Ascent Protocol

At the end of your shaking session:

  1. Exhale all the air through the mouth until absolutely nothing remains.
  2. Hold your breath for a count of ten.
  3. Inhale deeply through the nose and focus on the first chakra (C1 – Coccyx).
  4. Visualize the energy filling your pelvic area — hold it there for a few seconds.
  5. Inhale slightly again and guide the energy from C1 (Coccyx) to C4 (Heart).
  6. Hold it in the heart space — feel it expanding.
  7. Inhale once more and move the Kundalini energy from C4 (Heart) to C7 (Crown).
  8. Remain in this brief apnea, then release completely — entering Paravastha (No Mind), the state of total stillness and peace.

The Ecstatic Rise

At certain moments, you may feel the Kundalini energy ascending along your spine, spreading through your entire being as an ecstatic, luminous current. This is not imagination — it’s the living pulse of consciousness awakening within the body.

When approached with reverence, grounding, and awareness, the shaking practicebecomes not merely a physical exercise, but a sacred gateway into the evolutionary intelligence of life itself.
