Neurogenic Breathwork is an advanced branch of the Somatic Shaking™ method that combines neurogenic tremors with conscious breathing to facilitate access to deeper states of self-regulation and release. The practice is structured around two essential steps.
The first step is Priming, a preparatory phase in which the body and nervous system are progressively activated, increasing their responsiveness to natural neurogenic responses.
The second step consists of guided breathing performed in the fundamental floor-based positions of Somatic Shaking™. By combining these positions with a specific breathing rhythm, the practice engages physiological processes involved in autonomic nervous system regulation.

Additionally, the facilitator may gently tap specific marma or chakra points to deepen the experience. Gentle touch and rhythmic tapping are known to support body awareness, reduce perceived stress, and help the nervous system move toward a calmer, more regulated state.
Research in neuroscience and respiratory physiology shows that breathing patterns can influence vagal activity, carbon dioxide levels, and the dynamic balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic activity, supporting stress reduction and the body’s natural capacity for self-regulation.
Neurogenic Breathwork is therefore more than a breathing technique. It is an approach in which breath and the body’s neurogenic responses work together to support the release of deep-seated tension and the restoration of neurophysiological balance.
